Kitchen Interior Design Tips
Update: Hardware
When it comes to interior design, the details matter. Luckily, hardware makes a more significant statement than you realize. Whether you want to mix up the metals or try more modern pieces, the hardware is a cost-effective switch that’ll leave you begging for more. If you ask us which metals we’d go for, we’d happily exclaim brass.
Keep: Backsplash
We love backsplashes, but it’s a costly piece that we try to keep whenever possible. Try updating other pieces in your kitchen, and your backsplash could end up looking better than ever before.
Update: Cabinetry
Hear us out. Your cabinetry needs a refresh. Now before you go and bust out the hammer, try and whip out a paintbrush instead. It might be time-intensive, but it’ll leave you with an entirely new and updated look.
Keep: Countertops
Countertops are also a big budget item to keep this season. Rather than swapping out your countertops, try mixing up your lighting, and it could take on an entirely new look. But if you’re dying for newer countertops, we love light countertops, like Calcutta, soapstone, or granite. Stray away from natural countertops that require a lot of maintenance.
Update: Shelving
Many Utah interior design firms are opting for open shelving rather than exclusively-closed cabinetry. It’s a great trick for making your kitchen feel larger without adding any square footage. Not only does it give you a fun place for style accessories but it’s also a visual break that makes your upper cabinetry feel less bulky.
Update: Lighting
Lighting makes a BIG impression. That’s why it’s one of the first things we update when remodeling a home. We start most of our designs with lighting as the centerpiece and work the entire design around it. When picking out new lights, try finding some that make a statement but fit into the overall design of your home.
